It works with standard Windows apps — Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Notepad, File Explorer, Windows Settings, and websites like Zoom, Gmail, ChatGPT and Claude opened in your browser. If you can describe the task, you can usually get a tutorial for it.

A video shows you someone else's screen; you watch, pause, rewind and try to keep up. PathTutorial guides you on your own screen — it points at the actual button wherever it is, speaks each step, and waits for you. Because you do it with your own hands, it sticks.

A .ptf (PathTutorial File) is an interactive tutorial. You open it in the free PathTutorial Player, which then points, speaks and waits as it guides you through each step. Once the Player is installed you can just double-click a .ptf to run it.

The Player runs locally on your computer and guides you — it doesn't take actions for you. It reads on-screen elements (via Windows accessibility) so it can point at the right button, and it watches for your click to know when to advance. When you use the AI builder, the task you describe is sent to our AI provider to generate the tutorial.

Yes. Sign in, describe what you want to do, and the built-in AI assistant builds a tutorial for you. Or connect your own ChatGPT or Claude using the PathTutorial connector and have it build tutorials on demand.
